The entire CAFE Convention program is designed with the fair and event industry in mind, with professional speakers and industry experts who will challenge and inspire you. As a delegate, you will gain the tools you need for continued success in this dynamic industry. There are opportunities to promote your business or organization in the tradeshow, or to showcase your talents for an audience of industry professionals and entertainment buyers. If you work in the agricultural society or exhibition industry, the CAFE Convention is “a must” for networking with others in the business.


Canadian Fair News - The Canadian Fair News magazine is a quarterly publication  distributed to members.  The magazine provides innovative programs, fair industry news and stories.  A hard copy is mailed to all members and a digital copy is available on the Member's Zone section of the website.

Our website provides members the opportunity to obtain and share information with the entire Canadian Fair industry. It also keeps our members up to date on news alerts, job postings and upcoming events. Our members can benefit from free listings on our on-line directory, free job postings and a free calendar listing of your upcoming events.

Our “Member’s Zone” area contains a photo bank (thousands of free photos for you to use), past webinars on industry topics, a list of membership benefits, the Industry Directory, the Industry Resources & Templates and more.

Directory - The CAFE National Industry Directory, available in the members only section,  is an online annual publication listing contact information for all CAFE members.  It’s a handy resource for anyone in the Industry.

The CAFE Awards Program recognizes the accomplishments, innovation and long-term contributions of industry organizations and individuals.

Canadian Fair Champions
This program honours the unsung heroes of the Canadian fair industry at a national level, and awards them with an expense paid trip to the Annual Convention.

Innovation Award
What is innovation?  I’s a new product, service, technology or method that provides a better or more effective end result.  It could be in engineering, beautification, competitiveness, environmental programming.  Tell us about what your fair has done and how it has enhanced your event.

Jack Libbert Memorial Service Member of the Year
This award recognizes a service member (concessionaire/vendor, midway, service provider) that is deemed to have made the most significant overall contribution to the industry over the past year(s).

Roll of Honour
This award recognizes distinguished service by an individual or organization to our industry.  Nominees must have made significant contributions through their leadership, vision, specific expertise, outstanding service or impact beyond their own community.

Future Leaders Awards
These awards recognize exceptional performance and leadership from the “up-and-comers”, staff or volunteers who are under the age of 40, in our fairs and societies.  Nominees should show promise as a future leader in your organization.  Each winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the CAFE Convention.

Work Exchange Program
Future Leaders, staff members or volunteers from a fair or service organization can participate in an exchange, in which they work for a period of one or two weeks at another fair.

Membership Categories

Fair Members: shall be limited to non-profit agricultural societies, fairs, exhibition or festival organizations recognized under or pursuant to any Canadian Federal or Provincial Statute, the operations of which are principally conducted in Canada. Each Fair member is entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at all meetings of members and shall be entitled to one (1) vote at such meetings

Fair members shall provide the name of an official representative through whom member benefits are delivered.  Member benefits and discounts are intended exclusively for staff and Board of the member fair.

Service Members: May be firms, organizations or other enterprises that obtain revenues from business activities conducted in conjunction with Fair Members in Canada by either:

Conducting business directly with the public attending events or activities operated or sponsored by an agricultural society, fair or exhibition organization
Conducting business directly with an agricultural society, fair or exhibition organization or with other Service Members conducting business at an agricultural society, fair or exhibition, operated or sponsored event or activity

Each service member is entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at all meetings of members and shall be entitled to one (1) vote at such meetings.

The service member shall provide the name of an official representative through whom member benefits are delivered.  Member benefits and discounts are intended exclusively for the official representative and his/her designate.

Provincial Associations: shall be limited to duly constituted Provincial Associations  of fair, exhibition and agricultural society organizations.  Each Provincial Association is entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at all meetings of members and shall be entitled to one (1) vote at such meetings

Supporters (non-voting): Organizations, Associations and other interested parties who actively support the fair industry but do not obtain revenues with Fairs, Exhibitions, Service or Provincial Associations.

Speakers Bureau

CAFE offers members a listing of industry speakers who are available to attend their meetings and events and present on a variety of topics that relate to their work. The only cost is travel and accommodation for the speaker. This offer is only available for members of CAFE.

National Plaques

Distinguished Service and Order of Merit Awards are available to any member organization throughout the year. These awards are sent directly to the organization for presentation at a suitable occasion in the local community. These awards are only available for CAFE members.
