Canadian Fair Champion Program
GOOD NEWS! DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2013 at 11:59 pm!
As the national voice for Canadian Fairs & Exhibitions Industry, the Canadian Association of Fairs & Exhibitions leads a thriving industry which represents the cultural, emotional, and traditional connections to all Canadians who provide significant economic advancements for our communities. This is a very exciting time for CAFE! We have a brand new strategic plan, a brand new Website and we are now connected on Facebook, be sure to like us and follow our posts. We are meeting with key Federal Government Departments plus recently relocated our national office in Ottawa.
To keep the spirit of our forward, progressive momentum, CAFE is very excited to announce the “Canadian Fair Champions” program!
Here’s the deal! Of course, you know that special someone in your organization that goes that extra mile and has an unmatched dedication to ensure the success of your program. Maybe it’s the guy whom for the last 25 years has been thanklessly standing in your parking lot, on hot and humid days or during pounding rain storms, directing traffic or maybe it’s the gal who shows up every year to volunteer in your office to register competitions or maybe it’s the CEO of your Fair that you find in the office the following morning, as he has stayed up all night preparing for the upcoming event. Of course, you know that special someone!
We at the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions want to honour those unsung Heroes of the Canadian Fair Industry at a national level.
To nominate a Canadian Fair Champion” is easy. Go online http://www.canadian-fairs.ca/ and follow the tabs to “Fair Champions” to complete the form or send your submission to Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions, Attn: Canadian Fair Champions, 854C Boyd Ave, Ottawa, ON, K2A 2E1. Be sure to include: your name, name of the nominee, organization and address, phone number and email where you can be reached. Most importantly, a brief 100 to 250 word description of why you think your special someone should be recognized. Submissions for 2013 are due by September 30th – so be sure to put your pen to paper now. If you have any questions feel free to call Mavis at the National Office at 613-233-0012 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The rules are easy. The nominees have to be involved or connected to the Fair Industry in Canada – that’s it. There will be three winners selected by an independent panel of judges from across Canada. The three winners will receive airfare, transfers and accommodations to the annual CAFE National Convention in Ottawa where they will be honoured during the National Awards Luncheon. Pretty Big Deal!
